Applications are sought for the very important role of Marlborough Rugby Operations Manager. The contract is for an initial term of 10 months to coincide with the TRU financial year. It is anticipated that the contract will be extended beyond 31 December 2012 if the current  structure of Rugby Operations is retained.

The successful candidate will report to the Chief Executive and will:

·         provide leadership in the management of rugby within the Marlborough Sub Union and provide a strong and seamless link between the Tasman Rugby Union and the Marlborough stakeholders.

·         build strong, healthy relationships with all rugby clubs, schools, and stakeholders within the Marlborough Rugby Sub Union.

·         Assist TRU Commercial & Marketing personnel to secure and manage Marlborough based sponsorship relationships.

·         foster the game of rugby in the region to ensure participation is maximised.

·         manage the representative programme for all sub union representative teams and ensure all ITM Cup games in Marlborough are run efficiently and to the highest standard in conjunction with other TRU staff.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes

·         a passion for Tasman rugby and an in depth knowledge of the game.

·         excellent relationship management, planning and communication skills.

·         sound business and administration experience.

·         strong IT literacy skills.

·         effective organizational and time management skills.

·         an ability to influence people.

·         strong marketing skills with experience in identifying commercial opportunities would be advantageous if not essential.
