The Tasman women's rugby team suffered its second heavy defeat in as many weeks after losing 51-5 to Wellington in Friday night's Lansdowne Park curtainraiser.
Wellington scored nine tries to one and led 29-0 at the break, with centre Lisa Hema highlighting her team's effort with a four-try contribution.
A skilful Wellington side dominated both possession and territory with Tasman required to do plenty of tackling.
Flanker Hannah Neal and fullback Lucy Higgins each made strong defensive contributions and winger Kim Vui took her scoring opportunity well at the end of a second-half tap penalty.
But Wellington proved too strong in all departments as locks Jackie Patea and Caroline Martin led a cohesive forward effort to shut Tasman down for long periods.
